The carefree black girl: defies cultural norms with her style, hair, attitude, and most importantly presence. 2016 was such a great year of this with Beyonce’s ‘Lemonade’, Solange’s ‘A Seat at the Table’, Serena Williams being a boss and many many others. This look was so fun because we got to embrace all of those things. 2017 is the year of black girl magic.  Stylist: Rik’ki Jackson Photographer: Derrious Robinson (@RidetheWave__) Model: Rashielle Teape

In the midst of all things affecting minorities within the US, the news of our  President-Elect and simply everything going on in the world, it’s important that we have people that look like US representing US. Black lawyers matter. Fun fact: Ariel is currently earning her J.D. at FAMU Law School. Stylist: Rik’ki Jackson Photographer: Derrious Robinson (@RidetheWave__) Model: Ariel Cavazos

Don’t you hate when you’re freezing during the winter season but see pictures of people in places like Florida, the Caribbean, etc. just on the beach? Lol.. but this shoot was the perfect mix of embracing the Florida weather while still adding some Fall components. Bright colors were a must because why not wear pastels on a beautiful, sunny day? With the Fall touches of a long-sleeved denim shirt and midi skirt, this look is perfect for a breezy Sunday on the town. Stylist: Rik’ki Jackson Photographer: Derrious Robinson (@RidetheWave__)

I think streetwear is so cool because it allows women to still be sexy and feminine without being in a traditional ‘girly’ outfit. Rihanna was a huge inspiration for this look simply because Riri = streetwear (let’s be honest lol). But, for those that have been on the fence about wearing certain ‘tomboy’ things, throw some heels and your favorite bag with your unconventional pieces.. You’ll surprise yourself 😉 Stylist: Rik’ki Jackson Photographer: Derrious Robinson (@RidetheWave__) Model: Shawndra Nash

Simplicity goes a long way. That’s exactly why I love the color black. It’s so simple yet does so much for body types, matches almost anything and still makes a bold statement. Whether you’re just having a casual day in the city or a night out with the girls, incorporating black is like adding a little spice. Hello, Fall!

I’m not sure about ya’ll, but one of my favorite things about the Fall is the leaves changing colors. This is definitely where I pulled inspiration from for this look. Burnt orange, olive green, tan and grey are such great colors individually but do wonders together! When you’re pairing your outfits for this season, make sure to task risks and play with different colors and textures! Don’t be scared to scream HELLO FALL!  Stylist: Rik’ki Jackson Photographer: Derrious Robinson (@RidetheWave__) Model: Kelcey Sablon

With New York Fashion Week coming to a close, all of the street style photos were a huge inspiration for this look. Individuality and boldness are all that comes to mind. When you rock your fit confidently, nothing can stop you. You want to mix patterns and add a yellow shoe? Go ahead, the world is yours.
